Yoga Therapy

Yoga Therapy with Shira Cohen, learn what it is and how it can transform your life and your loved ones lives. A story, a passion and a practice to empower.

Apr 1, 2021

Diana Tokaji and Shira talk about Yoga therapy for acute stage trauma, and how calming the nervous system isn't accessible for those still in trauma.

Feeling strong and embodying power, is key in this phase of healing. Diana teaches ten anchoring points:

* Vigilance

* Symmetry

* Narrow Stance

* Knees Parallel

* Closed Kinetic Chain

* Heels on Earth

* Quadriceps Engaged

* Eyes Open

* Head Level

* Protective Gesture/Mudra

We do a short practice for strength and empowerment, and how essential a place of focus is to feel safe, and being in the physical body through strong practice brings about this safety and 'tethering'.

Shira talks about her journey of being without a permanent home, burnout and finding ways to work with associated emotions, mental and psychological states, and how it led to her forth-coming book, Reclaiming Wellbeing.

Diana is IAYT certified, has her M.Sc. in Yoga Therapy, is a choreographer, and author of Six Women in a Cell, and
